Hämeenkoski

Hämeenkoski is a town in southern Finland. It is located about 30 km west of the city of Lahti in the landscape Häme.

By 1995, the community was called Koski Hl; the suffix Hl stood for the 1997 resolution Häme, to count the congregation, and they differed from the homonymous municipality Koski in the West Finnish province of Turku and Pori, which leads the official name Koski Tl until today. Koski was 1410-1540 as an independent parish, but was then the community Lammi slammed. With the administrative reform in 1865 Koski was independent again as a political community.

Hämeenkoski includes the towns of Etola, Hankala, Huhti, Huljala, Hyrkkälä, Hyväneula, Järvenpää, Kaunkorpi, Koski, Käikälä, Leiniälä, Miehola, Padonmaa, Porvola, Putula, Saapas, Tenhiälä, Toijala and Töykkylä. The community center is located on the northern shore of Lake Valkjärvi.

Hämeenkoski is the birthplace of Juho Kusti Paasikivi (1870-1956), the seventh President of Finland.
