Hampton Sides

Hampton Sides (* 1962 in Memphis, Tennessee) is an American historian, author and journalist.

Life

Sides finished his studies in history at Yale University with a BA from. In the past he has held guest lectures in various institutions, such as Columbia University in New York City, Yale, Stanford University in Stanford, California, on the Colorado College, at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In addition to his work as an author of books with themes from history and fiction books Sides is rapporteur of the magazine Outside and writes for the National Geographic Magazine, The New Yorker, Esquire, Men's Journal and the newspaper The Washington Post.

Sides lives with his wife, who is also a journalist and previously worked for the National Public Radio ( NPR), and his three sons in Santa Fe in New Mexico.
