Hans-Berger-Haus

The Hans -Berger - house (also: Hans -Berger - hut, formerly Kaisertalhütte ) is a refuge of the Austrian Tourist Association Nature lovers, Kufstein section, located in the Kaiser mountains in Tyrol. The tenants operate a well-known mountaineering school here.

Location

The cottage is located on 940 m altitude in the rearmost Kaisertal at the foot of Totenkirchl, Karlspitzen Ellmau and maintenance. The backdrop of this massive rock summit is unmistakable. The Hans Berger 's House is a popular destination for hikers and an important base for mountaineers and climbers from these there are longer tours in the Wilder Kaiser. Just 15 minutes away is the Anton Karg- house of the Austrian Alpine Club.

History

On March 13, 1911, the local branch of the Kufsteiner Friends of Nature was called into being. Their quest to own a club's shelter was not until twenty years later success; than the request was approved by a building on 30 July 1931 by the municipality of Kufstein.

The refuge was opened on July 17, 1933 solemnly as Kaisertalhütte; October 2, 1933, hard on the occasion of the finished enlargement took place. At the same time there was already the decision to build a large guest house.

After a generous extension 1956 Kaisertalhütte was renamed in honor of longtime local group chairman in Hans -Berger - house. Since 1968 also the seat of the Wilder Kaiser mountain climbing school, the house in 2009 was again completely rebuilt and modernized.

Access paths

The hut (450 meters altitude) begins in Kufstein - Sparchen, passing Veitenhof, Pfandlhof, Anthony Chapel and Anton- Karg- house without difficulty through the complete Kaisertal in about 2 ½ hours to Hans -Berger - house.

Also possible is the ascent of the Griesenau Alm in Kaiserbachtal. However, first have 600 meter height went up to Stripsenjochhaus, from there turn good 600 meters down to the Hans -Berger - house, Walking time: 3 hours.
