Hans Op de Beeck

Hans Op de Beeck (born 1969 in Turnhout, Belgium ) is a visual artist. He lives and works in Anderlecht (Brussels).

" I really love the old painting and the idea to offer a window to the world. The viewer is invited to look at something. I hope that you will call this moment, easy to put aside in an image your own story. This is my space in art - which I again find it in the old painting. Just look in a landscape of Joachim Paltinir or on an interior of Johannes Vermeer and release. I believe very strongly in the old idea of catharsis that is tragic and difficult, but comforting in the quality of the image. "

Training

Hans Op de Beeck studied Fine Arts at the Institut Saint- Luc in Brussels. Then he took a postgraduate course at the HISK ( Antwerp) and the National Academy ( Amsterdam). In 2002-2003 he participated in the " MoMA PS1 Studio Program " (New York) part.
