Hans Spekman

Hans Spekman ( born April 6, 1966 in Zevenhuizen Zuidplas ) is a Dutch politician of the Partij van de Arbeid ( PvdA).

Life

Spekman studied at the University of Amsterdam political science. From 1994 to 2001 he was a member of the city council of Utrecht. From November 2006 to January 2012 he was a deputy in the Second Chamber of the States General. On December 21, 2011 Spekman was elected to succeed Lilianne Ploumen chairman of the PvdA. He took office on 22 January 2012 and at the same time resigned his seat in parliament.
