Hans Tegner

Hans Christian Harald Tegner ( born November 30, 1853 in Copenhagen, † April 2, 1932 in Fredensborg ) was a Danish painter and draftsman.

His illustrated books influenced nearly a quarter of a century the prevailing taste. He was a staff member of Punch, Figaro and other newspapers and comic papers, was the artistic director of a porcelain manufactory and trade school in the Copenhagen Decorative Arts Museum. Famous are his illustrations for the " all comedies " ( Samtlige Comoedier ) by Ludvig Holberg and Andersen's fairy tales.
