Harem is a French film drama by Arthur Joffé from 1985.

Action

Selim is a high-ranking politician in an Arab country. He learns during a visit to New York City stockbroker who know Diane, in which he falls in love. Selim had kidnapped and brought into his harem, living in the already numerous women.

Diane first tries to escape. Later, she realizes that Selim is educated and sophisticated. They finally come to terms with the situation.

Reviews

The Time Out magazine wrote that the film could show the clash of different cultures in an interesting way. However, he was developing a " listless " drama in which was primarily concerned go if a couple stay together or not. The end was " completely flat".
