Harriet Creighton

Harriet Baldwin Creighton (* June 27, 1909 in Delevan, Illinois; † 9 January 2004) was an American biologist and university lecturer in botany and genetics. Creighton studied until 1929 at Wellesley College and received his doctorate in 1933 at Cornell University. During this time in Cornall she worked with Barbara McClintock. She was there in the discovery of crossing-over in maize.

After your graduation she taught at Cornell University and at Connecticut College. Then she taught until her retirement in 1974, again in Wellesley.
