Harry B. Liversedge

Harry Liversedge ( Harry Bluett " The Horse " Liversedge, born September 21, 1894 in Volcano, California, † November 25, 1951 in Bethesda, Maryland) was an American athlete and brigadier general.

In 1916 he was a student at the University of California at Berkeley IC4A champion in the shot put. In May 1917 he joined the the United States Marine Corps services. The Inter- Allied Games in 1919, he came second in the shot put and javelin, and in 1920 he won at the Olympic Games in Antwerp bronze in the shot put.

For its operations in the Battle of New Georgia and in the Battle of Iwo Jima, he was both awarded the Navy Cross.
