Harry Decheiver

Harry Decheiver ( born March 8, 1970 in Deventer ) is a former Dutch footballer who played in the Bundesliga for SC Freiburg and Borussia Dortmund from 1995 to 1998.

Career

Between 1995 and 1998, scoring 49 league games in Decheiver 20 goals and earned the nickname " clipper ". In total he scored 261 league games in the Netherlands and Germany 105 goals.

Decheiver was until the summer of 1995 at the Dutch club Go Ahead Eagles Deventer under contract before the former Freiburg coach Volker Finke discovered him and brought to Germany. He scored in his first season eleven goals in 22 games. Since it has already been frequently plagued in his second season at SC from injuries, he was able to complete only 19 games in which he scored six goals. After the Bundesliga relegation in 1997 Decheiver returned briefly to Holland for FC Utrecht, but was shortly afterwards obliged Borussia Dortmund. With Borussia Dortmund, he was on December 2, 1997 World Cup winner, after being substituted in the match against Cruzeiro in the 75th minute for Stephane Chapuisat. However, since he also in Dortmund was very prone to injury and could deny only eight games ( 3 goals ), he finished after the 1998/99 season at the age of 28 years, his career due to a lengthy hip injury.

Since 1 August 2005 he is manager of amateur club Helios Deventer.

After his playing career Decheiver Harry was about ten years video store owner in Deventer.
