Harry Wills

Harry Wills ( born May 15, 1889 in New Orleans, † December 21, 1958 in New York) was an American heavyweight boxer.

He was a 100 -pound man and so good that the significantly smaller champion Jack Dempsey did not compete against him. (See Peter Jackson ( boxer ) )

Wills defeated repeatedly Sam Langford, also a dangerous black man who did not get a title shot as well as the Argentine challenger Luis Firpo Dempsey.

At the end of his career, but some whites dared to run against him and he was defeated Jack Sharkey and Paolino Uzcudun.

He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1992.
