The hazelnuts (also known as Haselbach as two other rivers in the district of Günzburg ) is a right tributary of the Mindel. About this it is an indirect right tributary of the Danube in Bavaria. The river is on the county line between the counties of the Lower Allgäu Günzburg and a second-order waters.

Course

The source of the hazel is located in the forest northeast of Zaisertshofen (municipality Tussenhausen ) in the district of Lower Allgäu. From there, the almost 18 km long hazel flows in a north - to north-westerly direction to its confluence with the Mindel south of Thannhausen. The difference in height between the source and the mouth is 130 m. In the village of Haselbach (municipality Eppishausen, Unterallgäu ) opens the Westerbach in the hazel. From the source to Haselbach the hazel flows through the nature park Augsburg Western Woods at its southwestern edge.
