Haškovcova Lhota

Haškovcová Lhota to 1924 Lhota ( German Haschkowetz Lhota ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers north of Bechyně in South Bohemia and belongs to Okres Tábor.

Geography

Haškovcová Lhota is located in the hill country Bechyně ( Bechyňská pahorkatina ) on a plateau between the valleys of Lainsitz and Smutná. To the west rises the Jahodinská ( 489 m). East of the village street runs between I/122 Opařany and Bechyně.

Neighboring towns are Ovčín, Kozin and Stare Saddleback to the north, Krida and Dobronice u Bechyně in the northeast, Ovčín, Větrov, Dvorce and Černýšovice in the east, Bechyňská Smoleč, Hutě and Senožaty the southeast, Na Prádle, Poušť, Bechyně and Cihelna in the south, Radětice, U Viktorů, Soví and Na Pohodnici the southwest, Nepomuk and Borovany in the west and Bernartice, Zběšice and Rataje in the northwest.

History

The village is one of the numerous established after Lhotensystem towns in Bohemia. It was built on an ancient trade route that led from Miro Vice, Orlik, Sepekov Hanov, Srlín about Lhota to Bechyně and Soběslav. The first written mention was made in 1477, as Burian of Lazan eintauschte his and his sister's inheritance with his brothers and Václav Voldřich of Lazan against the desert festivals Podolí, a Vorwerkshof in Lhota, the desert village Borovany and a courtyard in Rataje. The official place name Haškovcová Lhota was introduced in 1924. After a referendum Haškovcová Lhota sparked November 24 again in 1990 by Rataje off and formed its own community.
