Hassisen kone

Hassisen kone (German Hassinens machine ) was a Finnish rock band from Joensuu, North Karelia, which was founded in late 1979. Initially, the group played a new wave of Finnish punks, but developed towards the end of its existence, a mix of different styles. The band was active until 1982.

History

Founding, initial success and reputation (1979-1980)

Hassisen kone was founded in December 1979, the band took its name from a sewing machine company in his home town of Joensuu. The former manager, who was very religious, was incensed about the fact that the band used the name of his company. At the protest, the band changed its name in the meantime Kassisen Kone, (Eng. Kassinens machine). Later, when the band came to fame, the company changed its name to Joensuun Konepalvelu (German Machine Service Joensuu ). For the band so that the original name was free again.

The band recorded in 1980 on the skirt SM Cup ( Finnish championship in rock music ) in Oulu and won the New Wave contest. In the spring of the same year the sales success of their records with the release of the first single began Hassisen kone / Kolumpia Orkesteri (German Hassinens machine / Kolumpia - band). This single was released from Hilse - record label. Other publications of the band published by Poko Rekords. The original band members were Ismo Alanko, Reijo Heiskanen, Jussi Kinnunen and Harri Kinnunen.

The first album, Täältä tullaan Venäjä ( dt Here we come, Russia), appeared in 1980. It contained the successful track Rappiolla (Eng. neglect) and also previously published songs like " Hassisen kone ".

Ugly melodies and new members (1981 )

With the second album säveliä Rumia (German Ugly tunes) (1981 ) went Hassisen kone to a complex musical style over. This style coined such hits as Jurot nuorisojulkkikset (Eng. stiffness youth celebrities ) and Tällä tiellä ( dt In this way ). The songs in the second album topics as the torment of existence and apocalyptic visions, which defined its somber mood of the album. The album got better reviews than the debut album, and the record was chosen by music journalists of the public service broadcaster of Finland to the local disk of the Year in the category of popular music. Even in 2005, the Finnish music magazine Soundi declared the fourth best record in the category of Finnish popular music.

In the summers of 1981 and 1982, the band on the rock Happening Tuuliajolla took part, a kind of cruise where the bands with a ship in the Saimaa lake region of a concert sail to the next. In the same year the band (Eng. The Saimaa Phänömen ) also appeared in the documentary Saimaa ilmiö on. This film was directed by the brothers Mika and Aki Kaurismäki. End of 1981 got Hassisen even kone four new members. At that time, Eero " Safka " Pekkonen, Antti Seppo, Hannu and Jukka Orma Porkka joined the band.

Last album and the end of the band (1982 )

Harsoinen Teräs (German Schierer steel '), the third and final studio album, was released in 1982. The album was full of progressive elements, which can be heard as clearly the best known song on the album, Levottomat Jalat (Eng. Restless feet ). Hassisen kone officially broke up in 1981 because the members were tired of always supposed to play only the most popular songs of the first album. However, the band completed the then current tour.

After Hassisen kone (since 1983)

Shortly after the resolution Ismo Alanko founded and Jukka Orma a new band called Sielun Veljet (German soul brothers ). Jussi Kinnunen took a six month break from music after he played in different bands, eg Ismo Alanko in säätiö. Hannu Porkka currently plays percussion in the Philharmonic Orchestra of the city of Joensuu. Harri Kinnunen has, among others, for Sleepy Sleepers and Lapinlahden Linnut, Eero Pekkonen eg played for Popeda.

The band has since played many of their resolution nostalgia concerts. In 2000, she appeared again at a concert at Midsummer in Eastern Finland Joensuu. This concert was recorded and a DVD titled 20 vuotta myöhemmin (20 years later ) released. All albums by Hassisen candies are now considered Finnish rock classics, as well as many songs of the band, eg Levottomat Jalat, Rappiolla, Harsoinen Teräs, Tällä tiellä and Rajat.
