Havana Film Festival

The International Film Festival of New Latin American Cinema is held every year in December in Havana instead.

History

In 1979, Cuba an initiative and organized the 1st International Festival of New Latin American Cinema. The film festival offers filmmakers in seminars also a forum on the perspective of the New Latin American film to discuss.

Under the 6th Festival on December 4, 1985, the Committee of the Latin American filmmakers established the foundation in New Latin American film (Spanish: Fundación del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano - FNCL ) contributing with the aim to strengthen the national cinematography and the continental cooperation. The wide- ranging program of the Foundation extends from the support to production to scientific research.

Simultaneously with the Foundation and the International Academy of Film and Television was (also Film and Television School of the Three Worlds called ) (Spanish: Escuela Internacional de Cine y Television - EICTV ) founded in San Antonio de los Baños.
