Haveri ( Kannada: ಹಾವೇರಿ Haveri [ha ː ri ː ʋe ] ) is a town in the Indian state of Karnataka with around 56,000 inhabitants ( 2001 census). It is the administrative seat of the district of Haveri.
Haveri is located in the north-central Karnataka 336 km northwest of Bangalore and 74 kilometers south of Hubli -Dharwad at an altitude of around 580 meters above sea level on the Deccan plateau. The National Highway 4 runs past Haveri. In addition, the city on the Bangalore - Hubli railway line is connected to the railway network.
The main attraction is the Haveris Siddheshwara Temple of the Chalukya period of the 11th century.
