Havlovice

Havlovice ( German Haulowitz, formerly Hawlowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located two kilometers south-east of Úpice and belongs to Okres Trutnov.

Geography

Havlovice situated on the river Upa and belongs to the foothills of the Giant Mountains. Neighboring towns are Batňovice in the north, Rtyně v Podkrkonoší in the northeast, Cerveny Kostelec in the east, Slatina nad Úpou in the south, southwest and Úpice Libňatov in the northeast.

History

Havlovice belonged to the rule Vízmburk and was first mentioned in the years 1516-1518. Around this time Peter of Dauba sold on Adersbach the rule Vízmburk with the associated villages jan, Špetle Janovice on Nachod. This incorporated the acquired area of his reign Nachod, coupled with the Havlovice until the abolition of patrimonial 1849 remained. This year Havlovice the District Commission Nove Mesto nad Metují was slammed. 1855-1868 it belonged to the district Nachod, from 1868 to 1876 to the district Nové Město nad Metují, 1876-1938 to 1938-1945 District Trutnov and turn to the district Nachod. Since 1945 it belongs to the Okres Trutnov.

The children of Havlovice were taught from 1789 in changing accommodation. 1797 a schoolhouse was built. Heated it was in the winter with wood, which provided the owner of the domain Nachod, Peter von Biron. Severe damage directed at a 1897 flood. In 1921, a library, opened in 1922 a poorhouse. 1924 Havlovice was electrified.

In 2007 Havlovice was named " Village of the Year in the region Hradec Králové " as well as " Village of the Year in the Czech Republic."
