Hažlín

Hazlin (Hungarian Hazslin ) is a city and a municipality in eastern Slovakia, with 1175 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). It belongs to Okres Bardejov ( Prešov kraj ).

Geography

The place is located in the mountains Ondavská Highlands (part of the Low Beskid ) at several streams that leave the place as Hažlínka. North West of the town is the " mountain" Kačalová ( 677 m nm). Hazlin is located 13 miles from Bardejov.

History

Hazlin for the first time in a document, dated April 12, 1414 mentioned as Henslengh writing and was part of the estate of Makovica. Indirect mentions there are already in the 13th and 14th centuries.
