Heather O'Rourke

Heather Michele O'Rourke (* December 27, 1975 in San Diego, California, † February 1, 1988 ibid ) was an American child actress who is best known for her roles in the Poltergeist trilogy.

Life

Heather O'Rourke was discovered in 1980 at the age of four years of Steven Spielberg, who was looking for his planned Poltergeist film by an actress who was fit for the role of the five -year-old Carol -Anne. Although he held her at first too young, he changed after an interview and a scream test his mind and gave her the role. Two years later the first Poltergeist movie was released and O'Rourke saying " They're he- EERE! " ( "You are here !") Became part of the American pop culture. After the great success of the first part, she took over this role in the sequels from the years 1986 and 1987.

From 1983 to 1984 she was part of the regular cast of the sitcom Happy Days, and entered into supporting roles in two television movies.

After the shooting of the last poltergeist movie O'Rourke died at the age of twelve years from the complications of emergency surgery as a result of intestinal obstruction. She was buried in Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles.
