Hector Hanoteau

Hector Hanoteau, actually Hector Charles Auguste Octave Constance Hanoteau ( born May 25, 1823 in Decize, Dépt Nièvre; . † April 7, 1890 in Briet, Nièvre), was a French painter.

Hanoteau was at the École des Beaux -Arts student of Jean -François Gigoux. From this inspiration, his first works were attributable more to the genre painting. Hanoteau could but soon find their own style and moved more and more of the landscape painting, which he could make more realistic with time. The best example for this is considered to be issued in 1847 painting landscape from the neighborhood of Compiegne.

Later Hanoteau undertook a study trip to and through Algeria and brought back many sketches, which later the basis of some remarkable images were, for example, an Arab camp before the walls of Laghouat.
