Hedy Iracema-Brügelmann

Hedy Iracema Brügelmann ( born August 16, 1881 in Porto Alegre, Brazil, † April 9, 1941 in Karlsruhe) was a German -Brazilian soprano.

Life

Hedy Iracema Brügelmann was born under the name Hedwig Hansel in 1881 as a daughter of German parents in Porto Alegre / Brazil. She was married to the merchant and later a bank director Theodor Brügelmann ( grandson of Johann Gottfried Brügelmann ), with whom she had a son ( Hermann Brügelmann ).

Professional work

Iracema Brügelmann studied at the Cologne Conservatory vocals, debuted in 1909 at the Royal Court and State Opera in Stuttgart, went from 1917 to 1920 at the Vienna Court Opera and then moved to the State Theatre in Karlsruhe, where she ended her career in 1941 also died. She received the title of a royal Hofkammersängern and got 1916 Charlotte 's Cross (see Rückert 2006).
