Heidi Zacher

Heidi Zacher ( born March 17, 1988 in Bad Tolz ) is a German freestyle skier. She specializes in the discipline of ski cross.

Alpine

Zacher began her career as an alpine skier in January 2004, when she first went at the age of 15 years at a FIS race in Berchtesgaden at the start. It was followed by further participation in FIS races in which they initially but mostly did not reach the top 20. The first victories in international competitions, she celebrated the beginning of January 2006, when they could choose two junior slalom for themselves. Thus it secured at the same time the title of Bavarian Junior Champion, which was awarded in these competitions. She reached the next success a month later, when she was second at an international board giant slalom.

Although Zacher posted more good results in Youth and Junior race, she did not succeed, the international breakthrough. While other skiers of her generation regularly even started in Europe or from 2006 or 2007 World Cup, the Lenggrieserin came as no starts out at lower class FIS races. In February and March 2007 Zacher again showed good performance when she was German high school champion and shortly thereafter in the giant slalom finished in seventh place in the heavily occupied German Championships. Again, she suggested doing athletes from the German European Cup squad. However, these results did not help her to a vocation in the DSV squad, so that they played no further race more after the end of the season 2006/ 07.

Ski Cross

After one and a half year break Zacher returned in the fall of 2008 in the international sports back - now as freestyle skier in the discipline of ski cross. In the short-term decision was followed in December, the first participation in the European Cup, which ended Zacher as second behind her teammate Anna Wörner. Since she had also conquered other Skicrosserinnen from the national squad as Julia Manhard, she was nominated for the first time for the World Cup at the beginning of January 2009. Already at the third competition in the French Flaine they finished tenth and was best German. With another top -20 results in the World Cup itself Zacher established in the German team, and was nominated in February for a month later, held world championship. This appeal was made, even though they do not even officially belonged to the national squad because of their short-term decision in the autumn. In Inawashiro it but not followed up on their inputs in, left in the quarter finals and took the 16th position.

In the 2009/10 season, Zacher qualified with two 14 ranks early for the Olympic competitions, which were held in Vancouver in February 2010. The output from the German Olympic Sports Confederation Olympic standard called for a general rankings in the top eight or two placings in the top fifteen.

As a third of the race in San Candido 19 December 2010 Zacher stood on the podium for the first time. On 7 January 2011 she recorded at the competition in St. Johann her first World Cup victory ahead of Hedda Berntsen Norwergerin and teammate Anna Wörner. She took several weeks to the discipline standings of the World Cup, but lost in the second last race of Anna Holmlund can overtake. On January 7, 2012, Zacher broke in St. Johann in a fall in the final round a lower leg and had the 2011/12 season prematurely.
