Anna Holmlund

Ida Anna Holmlund ( born October 3, 1987 in Sundsvall ) is a Swedish freestyle skier. She specializes in the discipline of ski cross and decided in the season 2010 /11 World Cup discipline rating for themselves.

Biography

Besides skiing Holmlund showed in her youth as a soccer player talent. She played several years for the Sundsvall DFF in Division 1, the second highest league in Sweden. In 2009, she decided to devote himself entirely to ski cross. Her debut in the Freestyle World Cup it was on 10 January 2009 with the 28th position in Les Contamines. Two months later she improved in nightmar fifth place.

The final breakthrough came Holmlund in the season 2009/10. She won her first World Cup victory on 21 December 2009 in San Candido and repeat the next day. Prior to the 2010 Winter Olympics they therefore belonged to the circle of favorites. In the Olympic race at Cypress Mountain she reached the 6th place. You get two more World Cup victories to end the season. At the beginning of the 2010/11 season pass Holmlund two World Cup victories and a third place, which she was one of the favorites for the 2011 World Championships in Deer Valley. There she won the bronze medal behind the Canadians Kelsey Serwa and Julia Murray. After the World Cup continued Holmlund their winning streak with three more successes continued and won the first World Cup discipline standings.

Throughout the 2011/12 season Holmlund was sidelined due to injury. At the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014, she won the bronze medal.
