Heinrich Tessenow Medal
The Heinrich Tessenow Gold Medal is an architecture prize, which is awarded annually since 1963 in memory of Henry Tessenowstraße. By 2006, it was provided by the Alfred Toepfer Foundation FVS Hamburg on a proposal from the Heinrich Tessenowstraße Society awarded eV. Since 2007, she is now awarded by the Heinrich Tessenow society itself.
Until 1994, the award ceremony was held at the University of Hannover in the context of Fritz Schumacher Foundation. Since 1996, the transfer of this award is usually in the Festspielhaus Dresden Hellerau ( Architect: Tessenowstraße ) instead. 2009, the ceremony in the Cultural Forum in Berlin in collaboration with the Art Library of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation.
