Heintje Simons
Heintje ( born August 12, 1955 in Bleijerheide, The Netherlands; civil Hendrik Nikolaas Theodoor Simons) is a pop singer, who celebrated as a child star with great success. He was in Germany (1967 raised for the first time in the ZDF - TV show " The Golden Shot " ) by his hit mom and as an actor in six films from 1968 to 1971 known.
Life
The Dutch musician and producer Addy Kleijngeld in 1966 became aware through a tip on Heintje. After that had participated in a talent contest in Schaesberg and those obtained with the Dutch version of the hit song Mamma, he was taken from Kleijngeld under contract. Kleijngeld operated henceforth as Heintjes Manager and composed most of the tracks of the singer. In the same year Heintje took in Amsterdam his first album in Dutch.
Great reputation in the German-speaking countries, he obtained the first time in October 1967 publicly presented the German version of his winning competition entry. Mama - so the spelling is now used - lasted for nearly an entire year on the charts and in 1968 was the biggest selling single in Germany. Within about four years Heintje was honored for his singles and LPs with a total of 40 gold records, one platinum record, two Golden Lion at Radio Luxembourg, a Bambi and numerous other prizes. His German producer was until 1976 Ronny ( Studio Nord Bremen). From Heintje over 40 million records were sold. Three LPs also appeared for the international market (USA, Canada, Australia) in English. In 1968 Heintje was also discovered for the film. Add To hell with Penne in 1968, he played a secondary role, before he turned three films in 1969 with specially ascribed to him leading roles. He did not make an acting career.
Heintje could be from 1973 ( comeback after the change of voice, which he reached the age of sixteen and a half years ) but never solve all of his image as a child star. Although he reached in 1975 in South Africa with two LPs recorded in Afrikaans also a large fan base, but his success in Europe remained modest.
He tried several comebacks, first under the name Heintje Simons, later as Hein Simons - where he mid-1990s, was able to establish in the field of popular music itself.
