Heinz Winbeck

Heinz Winbeck ( born February 11, 1946 in Piflas ( today part of Ergolding ) ) is a German composer.

Life

Winbeck began his training in 1964 at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich. His teachers there included Magda Rusy (piano ) and Fritz Rieger (conducting). From 1967 he studied at the Munich Academy of Music with Jan Koetsier (conducting ), Harald Genzmer and Günter Bialas (composition). 1974-78 he served as Acting composer and conductor at the Stadttheater Ingolstadt and at the Luisenburg Festival. In 1980, he took a teaching position at the Munich Academy of Music; In 1988 he was appointed professor of composition at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg. In the same year he was " composer in residence" at the Cabrillo Festival in California.

Heinz Winbeck lives in Schambach at Ried castle in a restored by him and his wife Gerhilde parsonage, which he received an award from the Hypo Foundation. He is the creator of, inter alia, five large scale symphonies. His Symphony No. 5 " now and at the hour of death" reflects sketches to IX. Symphony of Anton Bruckner and Bruckner Orchester Linz was from under the baton of Dennis Russell Davies on 1 March 2010 at the Abbey of St. Florian premiered. With the country Linz Winbeck connects since a close cooperation, " Storms of Life " culminated in ballet. Winbecks works have been published in the Barenreiter -Verlag.
