Helalia Johannes

Helalia Lukeiko John ( born August 13, 1980 in Windhoek, Namibia ) is a Namibian long-distance runner who specializes in marathon and half- marathon.

Achievements

John won the 2011 at the Rössing Marathon, organized by Rössing Uranium Limited, which is held annually near the town of Swakopmund in Namibia. In the same year she won in record time the half marathon at the Two Oceans Marathon in Cape Town ( South Africa).

In addition, she won three occasions over the half marathon distance of Two Oceans Marathon (2006, 2007, 2009 ).

In 2007, she presented as fourth of the Dublin Marathon with 2:35:30 h on a national record. The following year she achieved on July 5 in Port Elizabeth another national record in the half marathon with 1:10:59 hours, finished the marathon in the Olympic Games in Beijing, ranked 40th and captured as a fifth of the Dublin Marathon with 2:32:30 h the national record by Beata Naigambo back.

In a marathon, the World Athletics Championships in Berlin in 2009 they came on the 56th. In 2011 she was Namibian champion in cross-country races.

John stood in the squad of the Namibian team for the 2012 Summer Olympics, finishing in London in the Olympic final with a time of 2:26,02 hours achieved the 12th place on the marathon route.
