Helena Olsson Smeby

Helena Olsson Smeby ( born November 2, 1983 as Helena Olsson in Sysslebäck, community Tosrby ) is a Swedish ski jumper who competes for Norway since 2008.

Career

Olsson was already at the first ever discharged ski jumping competition for women at the start, one held in St. Moritz on the edge of the Junior World Cup 1998 demonstration competition. There she finished in seventh place. In 2000 she went to the 2nd FIS Ladies Grand Prix and finished ninth in the overall standings. At the Grand Prix 2001, she was 16 in the summer of 2001 she participated in the competition of the FIS Ladies tour part and finished fifth in the overall standings. In its third participation in the Grand Prix 2002 she won the competition in Baiersbronn and Schoenwald and secured the third place in the Grand Prix standings. In March 2002, she could decide first two international competitions in Vikersund for themselves and also won the taking place at the Holmenkollen in the opening act of the World Cup women's jumping. In 2003, she participated in two in conjunction with the Men's Continental Cup in Planica discharged lady jumping part, where they finished third and fourth. In the following Ladies Grand Prix 2003, she finished fourth. At Holmenkollen it was in March Fourth. Two discharged in October 2003 Alpine Cup in Predazzo she took a second and a third place. In 2004, she did not join the Ladies Grand Prix, but was in fourth place at the Holmenkollen ski jump and started as Vorspringerin in ski flying in Vikersund. The following year she joined two held in Vikersund jumping the newly introduced Ladies' Continental Cup on (COC ) and occupied seats in the midfield. Then she abruptly ended her career, but returned at the 2008 COC Summer ski jumping competition in Lillehammer back. Before the start of the winter season, she married the ski jumping coach Jostein Smeby, the brother of former Norwegian ski jumper Henriette Smeby, and participated in the Norwegian citizenship. In the 2008 /09 season she appeared consistently at the Continental and could it regularly finished in the top ten. Their best finish was a fourth place on 25 January 2009 Ljubno. After a break from competition from December 2009, she joined in September 2013 at a Continental Cup in Lillehammer at and missed the podium as the fourth by one point.
