Hellraiser IV - Bloodline is the fourth installment of the Hellraiser series, and in 1996 in the cinemas.
Content
In 2127 the engineer Paul Merchant living on the Space Station Minos and prepares a trap here for the Pinhead and his Cenobiten ago to take revenge on them, for all his ancestors were killed by the Cenobiten. It is his goal to destroy this with the help of the space station, which is its construction. Here it comes a started from the earth detail in between, which is to regain control of the station. Merchant is arrested by the command, shortly after he called the Pinhead. Since he sees no alternative Merchant portrays the officer Rimmer the history of his ancestors and their fight against the Cenobiten. Criticism
Encyclopedia of the International film: mix of genres from horror and science - fiction film, as a third continuation of a successful horror fable. Although inhibit numerous flashbacks the narrative, but the "special effect" experts try to make up for this shortcoming.
Trivia
- Behind the pseudonym Alan Smithee here hides the director Kevin Yagher. The director and the producer or the film studio could not agree on the final version of the film itself; Yagher left the production without all the scenes to have turned after the studio had made cuts behind his back. As a director Joe Chappelle was involved in the production, but this was not mentioned.
- Bloodline was the last Hellraiser - part, which started in the cinema. All other continuations of the series were released directly to DVD.
- The budget of the film was approximately 4 million U.S. dollars, and he played 9,336,886 U.S. dollars again.
- Actually Bloodline should be the last part of the Hellraiser series, Dimension Films, however, was against it. The first version of the film was so strong recut that just now the well-known version of Bloodline has been published. In the original version, the end should be such that the " Toymaker " Never Jigsaw is said to have built.
