Hendon Central tube station

Hendon Central is an aboveground station London Underground in the London Borough of Barnet. It lies on the boundary of Travelcard Zone 3 and 4, at the junction of Hendon Way, Watford Way and Queen's Road. In the year 2011 there were 7.01 million passengers these of the Northern Line station.

Immediately at the northwestern end of the station followed by a 1000 meter long tunnel that passes under the center of the district of Hendon; the remaining distance to Edgware is again above ground. The opening of the station took place on 19 November 1923. Nine months Hendon Central was terminal, the extension to Edgware was put into operation on 18 August 1924.

The station building was designed by Stanley Heaps in the neo- Georgian style, but was only completed in 1929. The most striking feature are the paneled Portland stone front façade and an arcade with eight Doric columns at the entrance. Since 2011, the building is a listed building (Grade II).
