Henk Kamp

Henricus Gregorius Jozeph Kamp ( called Henk Kamp, born July 23, 1952 in Hengelo, Overijssel ) is a Dutch politician of the liberal Volkspartij voor de Vrijheid Democracy. Kamp is November 5, 2012 Economy Minister in the Cabinet Rutte II Between 2002 and 2007 he was Minister of Defense; October 2010 to November 2012 he was Minister of Social Affairs and Employment of the Netherlands.

After training as a tax auditor (1977-1980) Kamp first worked until 1986 in the tax investigation until 1987 he was chosen funds in the Parliament of the Province; him he was a member until 1994.

Kamp is, with an interruption from 2002 to 2006, mentioned since 1994 member of the Tweede chamber lower house of the Dutch parliament. On 22 July 2002 Kamp was appointed Minister of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment, in addition, he was commissioned in December to head the defense Resort. In the second Balkenende government Kamp took over after that only the secretary of defense, which he held until February 22, 2007. Positions

Accompanied by protests survivor of the Srebrenica massacre, the Dutch government honored on 4 December 2006 approximately 500 soldiers of the Dutch contingent of the United Nations Protection Force, Dutchbat III. You could have at that time had an " extremely difficult task "; after 1995 they were " exposed for years false accusations ", but now relieved by official investigations, the then Dutch Defense Minister Henk Kamp. Bosnia and Herzegovina protested at the diplomatic level against this honor. Relatives of massacre victims and survivors from Srebrenica spoke at protest rallies of a "genocide " medal. Participated in the demonstration in Sarajevo against the award of the soldiers, the Society for Threatened Peoples (STP ) and called in an open letter to Kamp and Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende an apology to the survivors of Srebrenica.

Kamp called in March 2007, to make the targeted integration of refusal a criminal offense and mosques, in which called for the integration of refusal to close immediately.
