Henry Wilson (Pennsylvania)

Henry Wilson (* 1778 in Dauphin, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, † August 14 1826 in Allentown, Pennsylvania ) was an American politician. Between 1823 and 1826, he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Henry Wilson first attended preparatory schools. After a subsequent law school in Harrisburg and his 1812 was admitted to the bar, he began practicing in this profession in Allentown. Between 1815 and 1821 he worked for the administration of justice in the local Lehigh County. Politically, he was a member of the Democratic- Republican Party. In the 1820s he joined the movement to the future President Andrew Jackson.

In the congressional elections of 1822 Wilson was the seventh constituency of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took over the second mandate of the district alongside Daniel Udree on March 4, 1823. After a re-election, he could remain until his death on August 14, 1826 in Congress. Then, his seat fell on Jacob cancer.
