Henry Winterfeld

Henry Winterfeld ( born April 9, 1901 in Hamburg, † January 27, 1990 in Machias, Maine, USA), pseudonym Manfred Michael and Henry Gilbert, was a German - American writers and artists of international success with his children and had children's books. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1940 and lived until his death in 1990 as a film writer in Roque Bluffs, Washington County, Maine.

Life

Henry Winterfelds father was Jean Gilbert (actually Max Winterfeld ), a German composer and conductor. His brother Robert Gilbert (actually Robert David Winter field) was also a composer and author.

Henry Winterfeld studied after attending a private school music at the Stern Conservatory in Berlin together with Claudio Arrau. He worked as pianist and wrote scenes and plays. In the list of plays performed by the musician, pianist, composer and theater director Rudolf Nelson (1878-1960) is Henry Winterfeld beside Friedrich Hollaender, Hans H. The book Timpetill a compulsory read in French schools. Under the title Les Enfants de Timpelbach the book Timpetill was filmed in the second half of 2007 by a French-Belgian- Luxembourg film production with actors Gérard Depardieu and Carole Bouquet. Henry Winterfeld was married to Else winter field. She worked as a toy designer and created a patented three-headed doll.
