Henryk Gołębiewski (politician)

Henryk Gołębiewski ( born July 22, 1942 in Lubowidz ) is a Polish politician, local politicians, teachers, former voivode of Wałbrzych Voivodeship, former Woiwodschaftsmarschall the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, former Secretary of State in the Ministry of Education and Sport, Senator the Fifth legislature since 2005 and deputy of the Sejm in the V. and VI. Election period.

In 1968 he graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics at the Technical University of Breslau ( Wrocław). He worked as a teacher at the School of Mechanical Jobs in Wałbrzych, was Deputy Director and Director of this school. From 1982 to 1984 he was director of the Office of Woiwodschaftsverwaltung the Society for Child Protection in Wałbrzychu. From 1985 to 1990 he was Mayor of Wałbrzych, in the years 1990 to 1993, he headed the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Wałbrzych province, fulfilled the function of the Voivode of Wałbrzych Voivodeship from 1993 to 1997. Afterwards, he was again a local politician, was Deputy Mayor and Secretary of the city (1998 - 2000) and Secretary of the city Wałbrzych (2000 - 2001), as well as a Member of the Parliament of the Province of Lower Silesia in the first term. Since 1991 he is also the Chairman of the Main Board of the Polish Youth Hostel society.

He is a member of the Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej ( Democratic Left Alliance - SLD), belongs to the Woiwodschaftsvorstand the party. He was elected to the constituency of Wałbrzych to the Senate in 2001. He put this mandate in January 2003 because of the choice down to Woiwodschaftsmarschall the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. The function of the Woidschaftsmarschalls he fulfilled until 2004. During the same year he was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Sports.

In the 2005 parliamentary elections, he was elected on the list of SLD in the Sejm. In 2007 he was again with 10,664 votes deputy on the list of Lewica i Demokraci ( Left and Democrats - LiD ). He is Vice Chairman of the Sejm Commission for Education, Science and Youth, as well as a member of the Commission for Environmental Protection.
