Heřmánkovice

Heřmánkovice ( German Hermsdorf ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers north of Broumov on the border with Poland, is the Okres Nachod.

Geography

Located on the foot of the mountain blueberry Waldhufendorf extends to a length of five kilometers along the creek Heřmánkovický creek, a left tributary of the stones from north to south, where it forms a closed building with Olivětín. North-east rise the mountains Ruprechtický Špičák ( Spitzberg, 880 m) and the Široký ( 839 m ) north lie the Jelení vrch ( 751 m) and Jedlový vrch ( 733 m). On the eastern outskirts of Supí vrch ( Vulture's Peak, 541 m) and opposite him in the west of Holý vrch ( Kahlenberg, 546 m). In Janovičky the tourist border crossing Janovičky / Głuszyca Gorna brought to Poland. On the southern outskirts of the village the railway Meziměstí leads - Broumov through the valley of stones, where the railway station " Broumov Olivětín " is located.

Neighboring towns are Granna and Lomnica in the north, Głuszyca Gorna the northeast, Janovičky in the east, in the southeast Benešov, Olivětín and Hejtmánkovice in the south, and Hynčice Ruprechtice in the west and the desert Radosno in the northwest.

History

In the wake of the reclamation of the area by the monastery Břevnov the place was probably as the surrounding towns built around 1255 by German colonists. In the foundation charter of the monastery Broumov of 1286, the village was not mentioned. Herrmann Villa was first documented in 1353 as one of the villages of the pen Broumov. Since 1354 the church is busy, which belongs to the parish as a branch of Schönau.

1724 was consecrated by Abbot Othmar tine the new, built according to plans by Kilian Ignaz Dietzenhofer Baroque church of All Saints. In 1753, the founding of the village Johannesberg and 1836, with Straßenau another settlement was founded. After the abolition of patrimonial Hermsdorf formed with the district Straßenau / Benešov 1849 a municipality in the district of Braunau court and later in the district of Braunau. 1862, the Church of All Saints was elevated to parish church. The inhabitants lived mainly from agriculture and forestry. On Geiersberg was a limestone quarry, still also porphyry was dismantled. The occurring in the low- village Lehmlagerstätten used the Schrollsche steam brick, which was built between Hermsdorf and the Mount of Olives ( Olivětín ). 1885 lived in the town of 1,694 people, in 1913 there were 1,824. After the Munich Agreement Hermsdorf, which was inhabited mainly German was in 1938 added to the German Reich and belonged until 1945 to the district of Braunau. In the years 1945 and 1946, the expulsion of the German inhabitants took place. 1949 Janovičky was incorporated. After the dissolution of Okres Broumov Heřmánkovice 1961 was assigned to the Okres Náchod while umgemeindet the district Benešov Broumov. 1981 also Heřmánkovice with Janovičky was incorporated into Broumov. Since 1 September 1990, the municipality Heřmánkovice there again.
