Geography
Community structure
The municipality includes the village Hermaringen Hermaringen, the community part Gerschweiler, Hohweiher and the homestead Allewind. Furthermore, in the municipal area are the villages of Castle dialed Benz mountain, castle on the Stronberg ( commonly " Strohm mountain"), fonts castle, fonts Mountain, Stettberg, Kapfersfeld and deaf- Lingen. Hermaringen is an der Brenz.
History
Oldest finds a colonization history in Hermaringen are grave hill in hard woods, probably dating from the early Celtic Hallstatt period. From the Roman period, there is very little evidence, however, can urn the existence of a manor suspect.
The place name Hermaringen derived from male names Herimar was first mentioned in 1150 as Haermeringen. The first written record comes from the year 1216. Those days it was under the rule of the county Dillingen. Local lords were since the 13th century, the fonts, built the castle of the same. After the imperial cities of Ulm, Lauingen and Giengen they destroyed in June 1448, the castle was acquired in the same year of Count Ulrich of Württemberg.
Religions
As in all of Württemberg, the Reformation was introduced in Hermaringen in the 16th century. Since then, the place is known Protestant. The small Roman Catholic church in the village, which was formed after the Second World War had moved refugees and expellees, is supplied in the context of a " pastoral care unit " at the bottom of Brenztal Giengen from spiritually.

The Herma Ringer coat of arms shows in chief three six-pointed silver star, the sign of the fonts. The sign you see a green lime. The municipality colors are green - silver or green and white.

Traffic
Hermaringen is situated on the national highway 492 ( to Herbrechtingen ). Connection is made to the Federal Highway 7 (exit 117). Hermaringen is located on the Brenz Railway ( Aalen- Heidenheim -Ulm ) and belongs to the Heidenheim Tarifverbund.
Educational institutions
With the Rudolf Magenau School Hermaringen has its own primary school. Secondary schools can be visited in Giengen and Heidenheim.
