Geography
Gerstetten is on the Alb. Junipers dot the landscape, which was a large coral reef at the time of Early Jurassic sea.
Gerstetten is to Baiersbronn in the Black Forest, the largest area municipality in Baden- Württemberg town without law.
Community structure
The community Gerstetten consists of the districts Dettingen am Albuch, barley tablets, Gussenstadt, Heldenfingen, Heuchlingen, Heuchstetten and Sontbergen who were with the exception of the latter two formerly independent communities that were incorporated in the course of municipal reform in the 1970s after Gerstetten. The official designation of the districts is done by preceding the name of the community and by a hyphen adjusted separately the name of the districts. The community Gerstetten is also in the five residential districts Dettingen am Albuch, barley tablets, Gussenstadt, Heldenfingen, Heuchlingen divided ( with Heuchstetten and Sontbergen ). The districts Dettingen am Albuch, Gussenstadt, Heldenfingen and Heuchlingen form villages within the meaning of Baden-Württemberg municipal code with its own mayor and Ortschaftsrat.
The municipality Gerstetten includes 16 separately by villages, hamlets, farms and houses. For the former municipality of Dettingen am Albuch include the village of Dettingen am Albuch, the courtyards bindstone, castle timber yards and Falkenstein and the house brick and the disposed towns Postal Hürgenstein, Berghof, Ratfelden, Rederns and Sillenstetten. History
Gerstetten celebrated in 1986 based on the first mention of its 1,000 th anniversary. In fact, the place could go back because of his name until the late Merovingian period. Name formations on Amstetten are typical for this time. Names ending in- ingen as Heuchlingen and Dettingen belong to a somewhat earlier onset layer name. In the place name, the name of Gero, Huchilo and Benedetto are included, their importance as local founders but can not be proven Relevant Merovingian finds are so far not known from barley tablets. Notes on the findings of a series of burial ground in 1850 can no longer be verified, as the finds are lost. Coat of arms
The coat of arms was approved on 21 April 1975 the Home Office.
Blazon: " Argent, on a green Dreienberg a flying upwards red buzzard. "
One after the style originating from the 17th century seal of the borough reveals three ears of barley. After 1922, the seal image initially showed a " Ger " ( spear ), which should also indicate the place name. Twinning Association
To promote partnerships barley Ttens in Europe, the inaugural meeting of the partnership association was held in Gerstetten Gerstetten in the meeting room of the Town Hall on 1 June 2005. TriNa Orchestra
2011 began a series of meetings of young musicians in the cities Cébazat (France ), barley tablets ( Germany ) and Pilisvörösvar (Hungary ) to form a European orchestra, the TriNa Orchestra.
The first encounter took place in Germany from April 25 to May 1, 2011. Conclusion was the concert hall in the cliff in Heldenfingen on 30 April 2011.
For the second TriNa orchestra, the musicians met from April 8 to 15 in France and concluded with a concert on 14 April 2012 at Semaphore in Cébazat.
Third and being the last meeting of the TriNa orchestra was from 20 to July 28, 2013 in Hungary. Again, there was a final concert in the cultural center in Werischwar on 26 July 2013.
Economy and infrastructure
Traffic
Five kilometers north of Gerstetten the highway runs 466 between Sweet (B 10) and Heidenheim an der Brenz. As a feeder road in 1165, the country that runs from Aalen about Gerstetten to Ulm serves. The Protestant church of St. Nicholas is the oldest church in Gerstetten.
