Geography

Geographical location

Hettingen located in the southwest of the Swabian Alb. The district lies in the valley of Hettingen Lauchert in 630-795 meters altitude. The larger district Inneringen located on the Swabian Alb, the signal stone "on the Corner" is located at 818.96 m above sea level. NN. History

Hettingen

The settlement was named as Hatingin Alamannic founded in 1135 in the Chronicle of Zwiefalter Ortlieb first time. It belonged in the 11th century the Counts of Achalm, later the Earl of Veringen, probably built the castle in 1267 mentioned on the ridge above the village. Castle Hettingen
