The Hévíz -Balaton Airport ( IATA: SOB, ICAO: LHSM ) is a Hungarian regional airport near Lake Balaton.

History

Since 1991, the former Soviet military airfield for civil air traffic is open. Its infrastructure does not yet meet the standard so far other airfields.

After he had filed for bankruptcy in 2009, started its operation in April 2010 with the start of the tourism season. And then again at times set.

Meanwhile, the airport was reopened again on April 16, 2012 after a renaming in Hévíz Balaton Airport.

Location and Transport

The airport is around 11 km from Hévíz in Zala county west of Lake Balaton ( Balaton ungar ) on the basis of the community Sármellék. Passengers can be transported with the offered transfer buses or outside the terminal building waiting taxis in their holiday accommodation.
