High Raise (Langdale)

The trigonometric point on the High Raise

The High Raise is a mountain in the Lake District, Cumbria, England. With a height of 762 meters it is the highest mountain in the Central Fells according to the classification of the Wainwright. With a saddle height of 283 m, it is classified as a Marilyn. At the summit there is a trigonometric point.

East of High Raise is the passport of Dunmail Raise to the falls of the Summit on the slopes of Grasmere Commons. In the slopes of Grasmere Commons Codale the Tarn and Tarn Easedale lie east of the summit. Through an incision in which the Langstrath Beck flows, the high raise is separated from Glaramara in the West. To the south of the summit ridge on the Thunacar Knott continues to the Langdale Pikes.
