Hill (crater)

15.76

Hill is an impact crater near the eastern edge of the Sinus Amoris and is located in the northeast quadrant on the front of the moon. Within a few crater diameter south-southwest is the crater Carmichael. To the east is the conspicuous Macrobius. Hill is substantially circular in shape, with a small level in the center of the sloping inner walls. Compared with the area, the inner slopes of a relatively high albedo. The crater itself is free of noticeable impact record on the edge or in the interior, and is no different from many similar lunar craters.

Before being renamed by the International Astronomical Union ( IAU) in 1973, Hill was known as the Macrobius B.
