Hinder

Hinder [ hɪndə ] is a five-piece post-grunge rock band from Oklahoma City, United States.

History

The band was founded in July 2001, when the songwriter and singer Winkler played with chance acquaintances Garvey and Hanson a jam session. Three years were together until King and Rodden 2004 to met and they made their first recordings at his own expense. Due to their promising first EP entitled Far from Close they came in a short time to a recording contract with Universal and 2005, their first album Extreme Behavior. After bad reviews at the beginning of the album became a commercial success, in so far that it reached a year after the publication of about two million copies sold double platinum in the U.S..

During this year, not only their popularity increased with the radio stations, their notoriety grew by appearances and tours with many famous rock bands like Nickelback, Hoobastank, Staind and Aerosmith.

The first single Get Stoned was at first only a minor success in the U.S. rock charts, but the final breakthrough came with the song Lips of an Angel. According to number one in the pop and Download sectors of the U.S. charts, the song climbed to # 3 on the official Top 100 in Australia and New Zealand, the song popped straight to the top spot in the single charts.

Beginning of 2013, singer Austin Winkler went to rehab and was replaced by Jared Weeks ( Saving Abel ). In November 2013, the band announced that Winkler was no longer a member of the band.
