Hironobu Sakaguchi

Hironobu Sakaguchi (Japanese坂口博信Sakaguchi Hironobu; born November 25, 1962) is a Japanese game designer and producer. He is the creator of the Final Fantasy series.

With the founding of Square Co., Ltd.. in 1986 he was appointed "Director of Planning and Development ." In 1991 he was " Executive Vice President". Since joining, he led the development department. In 1995 he was appointed president of the newly formed U.S. subsidiary.

In 1987, Square was on the verge of bankruptcy and so put you all in hopes Sakaguchi's Final Fantasy project. With success, the first part sold over 600,000 copies, which was a huge success at this time and established the series (along with Enix's Dragon Quest series ) as the most successful RPG series in Japan.

In addition to the Final Fantasy series is one of the Chrono series among his most famous creations. In 2000 he was inducted for his achievements in the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences ' Hall of Fame.

His vision of a feature film with computer-created actors, he fulfilled with the movie Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. The failure of the film ensured that the company Square Pictures newly founded went bankrupt. Therefore, he was from the producer stepped down as Executive Producer and left Square Enix, around 2004 to form his own company Mistwalker, with others now also free Square Enix employees, such as Nobuo Uematsu.

Mistwalker has been videogames Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon for the Xbox 360 and ASH completed for the Nintendo DS. The latest work is The Last Story for Nintendo Wii.
