HMS Myrmidon

Seven ships of the Royal Navy have been named HMS Myrmidon. The name refers to the Myrmidons of Greek mythology.

  • HMS Myrmidon (1781 ) was a wooden sailing ship in the sixth grade with 22 cannons and was 1781-1811 in use.
  • HMS Myrmidon (1813 ) was a wooden sailing ship in the sixth grade with 20 guns, was launched in 1813 and in 1823 canceled.
  • HMS Myrmidon (1845 ) was a gunboat built of iron and 1845-1858 in use.
  • HMS Myrmidon (1867 ) was a wooden gunboat, was launched in 1867, was used as a research vessel, and sold in 1889.
  • HMS Myrmidon (1900 ) was a destroyer, was launched in 1900 and sank in 1917 after colliding with a passenger ship.
  • HMS Myrmidon (G90 ) was an M- class destroyer, was placed in 1942 by the Polish Navy as ORP Orkan into service in 1943 and sunk by German submarine U 378.
  • HMS Myrmidon (1944 ) was a minesweeper, was put into service in 1944 and 1958 canceled.
