Hobbs' Angel of Death

Hobbs ' Angel of Death is an Australian thrash metal band from Melbourne, founded in 1986, disbanded in 1996 and was re- founded in 2002. She is one of the first Australian bands of the genre. So far, the band released two albums Hobbs 'Angel of Death (1988) and Inheritance (1995), as well as the compilation Hobbs ' Satan 's Crusade ( 2003).

History

The band was founded in January 1987 in Melbourne, where it was initially intended only as a solo project of ex - Tyrus guitarist Peter Hobbs. A short time later, the ex- Nothing - Sacred- members Karl Lean ( electric bass), Sham Littleman (drums ) and Mark Woolley ( guitar ) came to occupy. It was followed by the recording of the first two demos Angel of Death and Virgin Metal Invasion from Down Under, which attracted the attention of various labels was excited from overseas. She was one of the first Australian bands that played European Thrash Metal.

In February and March 1988, the band went into the Musiclab Studios in Berlin to record their debut album Hobbs ' Angel of Death. The album was produced by Harris Johns, was released in July on the German label Steamhammer Records and reached especially in Europe good sales. In addition to Hobbs and Woolley bassist Philip Gresik and drummer Darren McMaster -Smith could be heard on the album. In 1989, the band went on tour, with Bruno Canziani the drums and Dave Frew occupied the bass.

The second album Inheritance was published in 1995. The album, however, was only published in Australia. The band broke up shortly after the album's release.

In 2002, the band reunited and released a compilation, on the two early demos were heard. The band played a European tour that included an appearance at the Wacken Open Air. On the tour, the band played with groups such as Destruction and Mayhem. In July 2003 Keyboard Talie Helene left the band, although she had never made ​​a recording with the band or played a concert. She founded her own band called Stone Maiden. After that, the band reached an agreement with Modern Invasion Music.

Style

The band plays classic Thrash Metal, which is described as a mix of old works of Slayer and the album Extreme Aggression Kreator.
