Hobscheid

Hobscheid ( Luxembourgish Habscht ) is a municipality in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, in the canton chapels.

History

The community traces its historical origins date back to the Countess Ermesinde. The dispute on the contracts of their forest rights between Eischen and the Abbey Claire Fontaine went on for 514 years. Since the early Middle Ages Hobscheid belonged to the parish Elwingen, while belonged to the parish Eischen Arlon. Through the French Revolution Hobscheid came to Arlon. The third division of Luxembourg on August 19, 1839 made ​​Eischen to the border village.

1874 a section of the railway station with Attertlinie in Eischen was taken up to the then unfinished tunnel in " Uechtlach " in operation.
