Hohe Kisten

This small summit triangle of the High crates from the south.
The Hohe Kisten is a 1922 m above sea level. NN high mountain in Estergebirge in the Bavarian Alps and is north of Krottenkopf - the main summit of Ester Mountains.
The Hohe Kisten is a mountain with two sides, a rocky north side, on the looks similar to the summit of a large box, and a tame south side, on which the summit barely emerging.
The summit can be reached as not a difficult hike of Wallgau from. The increase of Eschenlohe in Loisachtal through the Pusteria requires endurance and sure-footedness. Another approach is the running in the Gratnähe way from Weilheim hut (1946 m). Thus it makes sense that the High crates to commit as a transgression: for example, a very long day trip Eschenlohe Hohe Kisten - Weilheim hut -Oberau (using the railway line from Munich to Garmisch -Partenkirchen ) or as part of a longer tour of the Estergebirge.
In the 1970s, it was planned to build a cable car to the summit of the High Eschenlohe boxes. The project, which also provided for several ski lifts, failed because of the resistance of the covenant nature conservation.
