Hoher Fricken

The High Fricken by the Bishop, left in the background the Zugspitze

The High Fricken is a 1940 m high mountain in the Bavarian Alps in Estergebirge and lies between the roll and the 2000 m high bishop. The summit is not a difficult hike as of Oberau or the swimming pool in Farchant ( on the way to Esterbergalm or the High Wank ) or somewhat steeper Farchant to the Kuhfluchtfällen past accessible. Halfway up the ascent on the Kuhfluchtfälle is the Frick cave. Walking time approximately 4 hours.

Since the reopening of the breakpoint Farchant in December 2010 the railway line from Munich to Garmisch -Partenkirchen allows again exceeded attractive possibilities, eg Farchant - High Fricken - Esterbergalm - Partenkirchen or Farchant - High Fricken - Oberau.
