Holger Börner

Holger Börner ( born February 7, 1931 in Kassel, † August 2, 2006 ) was a German politician ( SPD). He was from 1967 to 1972 Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Transport ( from 1969 to the Federal Minister for Transport and for the postal and telecommunications) and 1976-1987 Minister of the State of Hesse.

Life and career

After attending the elementary and middle school Börner learned after the Second World War, the occupation of concrete skilled worker. Actually, he wanted to be a journalist, but opted for a job where he could earn money faster. He was involved early on in the union and was recently Chairman of the Works of Kassel construction company, for which he also worked as an assistant foreman.

Börner was married since 1950 and had three children. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge transmitted light to peace in Kassel.

Party

Boerner joined the SPD in 1948, in 1950 was a board member of the SPD Kassel and was its deputy county chairman since 1956. Member of Parliament

From 1956 to 1972 Börner was a member of the Kassel city council and led there from 1960 to 1969, the SPD group.

Börner was elected in the general election in 1957 as the youngest member at that time, with 26 years in the German Bundestag. Here he was in 1965 until 21 June 1967 ( as at that time the youngest chairman of the committee ) and 1972-1976 Chairman of the Transport Committee. He was a member of the Bundestag until 1976. Public offices
