Formation
Lucien Witteveen and Sven van Veen met in a nightclub in Hilversum know. Since both were interested in rap, they decided to take a well-known pop song as a rap version. Own account, they had the idea to use Holiday by Madonna, because the song was just in the nightclub. Following the example of Grandmaster Flash they arranged the song and added new rap typical rhymes. Enriched is the song of samples with the alienated voices of musicians. They also adapted from the original line " Holiday, Celebrate ... " as well as parts of the text of the Cliff Richard classic Summer Holiday of 1963. Publish to Witteveen laid the pseudonym MC Miker G and DJ Sven van Veen the pseudonym to. Holiday Rap was released on 11 July 1986 and in Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands and France a number -one hit. In 1987 it reached Canada in 9th place
